The fight has five major components -

  • Diet - Food is how the carbohydrates are getting into your body. Taking a hard look at what you eat and how that affects you is a great place to start.
  • Exercise- There is no way you can control your diabetes without exercise. There are lots of different exercises that you can do in a day. But you have to get moving.
  • Monitoring - You have to measure and monitor your sugars throughout the day. This is the only way of keeping your mind on the fight and making sure that you are licking the enemy most of the time.
  • Medications- Not everyone needs to eat medication to control their type2 diabetes, but a lot of folks do take it. Know what you are taking and what the long term implications are.
  • Vitamins - You got to keep your body filled up with the good vitamins and minerals that you need.
